thank god for this.
i can't see the litttle lights on my receiver.
computer is stuffed into a space too small, the only place for my receiver was velcro'd to the undersid of my desk!
the mouse speed multiplier is good too!
needed it!

FINALLY! I hated that I couldn't switch the Windows and ALT keys on my keyboard, and, since my keyboard is wireless, having on-screen indicators is a !!! I love this site!

While I don't know what this 'Receiver' is that you speak of, I do agree that it's bad interface design and also bad driver design in general as I am not able to allow the control of the mouse by other software (such as USB Overdrive) and also enable control of the keyboard by Logitech drivers. That's what Logitech Tech Support told me, anyhow.
For this reason I've sold my Logitech keyboard and purchased a Microsoft Office keyboard in its place. I really like the Logitech, too, so it was frustrating for me to have to part with it, but my programmable mouse buttons (with application-specific settings, currently not possible using the Logitech drivers AFAIK) were more important to me than the keyboard.
Anyone know a way to disable the Logitech Mouse drivers and keep the Logitech Keyboard drivers?

I have this problem....the only work around i could find was set the mouse buttons (all but the left click) to something really really weird (i.e. shift-apple-option-9) and use another program to map those key combinations (and therefor the mouse buttons) for each application you use...
Also for the people out there like me who want to have there media buttons controlling something other than iTunes (well, i actually use them to control iTunes on another machine but that's besides the point) you can change the apple-scripts that Logitech have setup. To do this go to
/Library/Application Support/Logitech/
Show the package contents of the file 'LCCDaemon'
Go into Contents/Resources
Show the package contents of the file 'seraph.plugin'
Go into Contents/Resources/Scripts
(So the full path would kind of look like....
/Library/Application Support/Logitech/LCCDaemon-->Contents/Resources/seraph.plugin-->Contents/Resources/Scripts
If you take --> as a sign to look at the contents of the package)
In that folder you will find a list of file with strange file extensions. these are just plain text files. You can replace the text in the files with an apple scrip. The Logitech drivers will use osacript to compile and run the scripts on the fly.
You can have newline characters and it will still work. The changes take effect immediately. I found (tho i did no testing and it could be a placebo effect) that if you replace the text files with compiles scripts (with the same file names) they seem to run a little faster.

Pretty neat! :)
Although there are MouseZoom and others to speed up the mouse. I just wonder why they forgot to make this more 'visible' of an option?!?

HELP: Change hidden settings in the Logitech Control Center
Any GURU's know this answer?
Well on top of Logitech doing this it also caused me a big problem after I had to do a 'ARCHIVE AND INSTALL'. The Logitech panel in my system preference would not longer work. Nor would it uninstall with their 'Uninstaller'. So I had to reinstall it completely.
But now I have 2 Logitech Control Panels in my system preference window! Uggg!
Does any one know where to remove the extra icon image that is showing up in the system preference panel?
Regards

Try deleting your System Preferences cache file:
Quit System Preferences, then delete the file:
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.preferencepanes.cache
Reopen System Preferences, and you should be good to go.

Great!
Finally I can speed up my mouse without the pointer slowing to a crawl whenever I don't move it fast.
Now - anyone knows of a way to do the same with the original apple mouse? MouseZoom does not help. The mouse will still crawl when moving only slightly.
Well, I sent my complaint as feedback to apple. Maybe they will come up with a solution ...
bye. Andreas.
